The energy of the future

The transfer of global energy production from fossil sources to renewable energy sources is among humanity’s most important tasks. However, it won’t be enough. Due to the electrification of sectors such as mobility and other factors, global energy consumption is expected to increase by 50% by 2050.

Furthermore, not all industrial sectors can be easily electrified. This is where hydrogen comes in as a flexible energy carrier. However, at present, hydrogen is mostly produced from fossil sources. The challenge is clear: we need much more hydrogen and we need to produce it from 100% renewable energy sources.
